With its scalloped profile, Armorguard has less material and therefore is lower priced and weighs less. In theory, it is not as strong as solid (flat underside) decking, but the difference is not an issue. It is available in three colors: Sandcastle (shown above), Brazilian Walnut, and Nantucket Gray. It is capped three sides and has a 25-year warranty. ArmorGuard is sold exclusively through Home Depot.

Can you use a Fire Pit on a Fiberon Deck?

Any composite decking with a PVC or HDPE cap is vulnerable to heat from under a fire pit, especially a wood-burning fire pit. Some fire pits radiate more heat than others. Solid PVC decking such as Fiberon's Paramount is much more vulnerable than capped composite. This photo shows what happened to a section of Paramount decking under a very hot wood burning fire pit. Fiberon Phantom Universal Hidden Fastener
Fiberon developed its own fastening system: the Phantom Universal Hidden Fastener (above left) is a strong polypropylene … black to make it hard to see. The pre-insured screw speeds installation. An alternative is Fiberon's Phantom GT Hidden Fastener (above right) made of coated stainless steel.
Fiberon products are available through most building supply centers and lumber yards. A section on the company's web site lets you enter your zip code to see dealers in a 25 - 100 mile radius. Photos on this page are from the Fiberon web site. https://www.fiberondecking.com
